Julia Murney - this woman is FIERCE. And so underrated.
Oh yes. And yes again.
She’s the only Elphaba I like because she makes the show more than a pop concert. Her deep, rough voice makes me believe that she’s playing the role made legendary by Margaret Hamilton. She plays the awkward, neurotic college girl who is made into a wicked, hardened soul by society. 2:03 - 2:13 is chilling and dark — exactly what the song demands, and exactly what all the others shy away from. Props to La Murney for her fierceness!
Mhm. It’s like she’s the only one that gets what’s happening right at that moment.
#the moment she finishes the song it’s a like a punch to the gut
Everything Julia does is like a punch to the gut. Her Elphaba is fucking exquisite. Granted, I’ve only ever seen 30 or so bootlegs (lol shhh) with just about every cast that’s been around from 2003-2008, and granted, I have no real investment on this show anymore. But Julia remains my absolute favorite by far. She brings a depth and complexity and a certain kind of darkness and beauty to the role that no one else comes close to. Her characterization is unparalleled, and while to some hardcore fans her voice isn’t up to par (to me, it absolutely is. She is brilliant, even at her most sick), I will forgive absolutely anything if it’s her up there taking the audience on Elphaba’s devastating journey. (With bonus Sebastian Arcelus as her Fiyero, and I am more than sold.)

That is how this song is supposed to be done.
